The exhibition of Fabrizio Ruggiero’s sculptures and paintings opened during United Nations’ “2015: Time for Global Action” campaign. It was created to raise awareness about climate change and our fragile ecosystems. The sculptures are made of natural materials from different parts of the world. They bear testimony to nature’s resilience in the face of human-made challenges and are like totems, silent reminders of the dangers facing Mother Earth and humanity. Ruggiero’s 16 fresco-portraits represent personalities from all continents who, during their lifetime, contributed to the common good, transforming the way we think. These women and men never lost sight of the most vulnerable. The exhibition serves to remind us that art creates bridges where politics divide and that the artistic impulse carries seeds of redemption.
